Making quality tech education more accessible and available to high school students
Program Presented byWe believe that everyone should have access to high‑quality tech education, regardless of where they live or go to school.
Thousands of Missouri high school students would like to take a high‑quality computer science course as part of their core learning requirements. Unfortunately, many schools lack access to an affordable computer science curriculum or staff who feel confident teaching it. Through LaunchCode’s LCHS Program, teachers receive training from LaunchCode to prepare them as computer science instructors.
The program is based on reconfigured curriculum from our renowned job‑focused program, built to fit a two-semester high school schedule and meet state curriculum standards. High school teachers from Missouri public, private, and charter schools train with hands‑on coding skills, technological pedagogy, and coding curriculum lesson planning to provide accessible education for their junior and senior year high school students. All of this is provided free of charge to students, teachers, and schools.
Recruitment for the 2021-2022 program year will take place in early 2021. Please contact us via the form below to learn more.
We Train Teachers
First, teachers will complete a section of self‑guided education supported by LaunchCode, followed by full‑time in‑person training to develop their own coding curriculum for their students.
Teachers Train Students
When training is complete, teachers go on to teach their new curriculum to students in their high school classrooms with continuing support from LaunchCode education staff.
